Uttarkashi Flash Floods: Army Intensifies Rescue, Relief Ops In Dharali
The Army has launched a swift and coordinated Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) operation in the wake of a devastating cloudburst near Dharali, close to Harshil in Uttarakhand. The area is currently reduced from both the north and south due to a couple of road breaches and a collapsed bridge.
The Army reports that over 225 Army personnel, including infantry and engineering teams, are actively participating in search operations. Combat engineers have reached Dharali as a useful resource in clearing particles and restoring mobility.
As of 3 pm, 7 groups of the Indian Army are operating with Reeco Radar close to Tekla. While search and rescue puppies are deployed at Harshil; more are en route from Remount and Veterinary Centres.
